As you'll see from our Key Commissions page, we designed the Building Services for our 'next-door-neighbour', The Hold . It is home to the Suffolk County Archives which faces the University of Suffolk Ipswich Waterfront building and the popular '?' sculpture, which children love to explore.

Christmas 2020 marked the end of one of the toughest years globally as we struggled to comprehend and live with the grip of a global pandemic. Isolation and lockdown have taken a huge toll on us all, especially the education and freedom of tomorrow's adults.
At Johns Slater and Haward we chose to donate to the Ipswich based charity, Suffolk Young People's Health Project, also known as 4YP. The charity provides and coordinates services that improve social, emotional, physical health and wellbeing of young people in Suffolk aged 12-25.
A very worthwhile cause, which JSH is proud to support:

Something we might have all aspired to, though this particular year has been one many will gladly forget.
At Johns Slater and Haward like so many, we battened down the hatches at the outbreak of COVID-19 with our team including 16+ engineers working from home for 4 months. Yet challenging times breed creative responses and as a team we’ve adapted well, splitting our days across our 2 offices on the Waterfront to keep staff physically safe and happy at work. Digital chat platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams were rapidly adopted, ensuring fluid communication on jobs between staff, contractors and clients which are absolutely vital to our efficiency as a business.
Pre-pandemic, a sizeable chunk of our mechanical and engineering work was for the Ipswich, Colchester, James Paget and West Suffolk Hospitals. Supporting the NHS became ever more prescient as we advised on feasibility stage design and specification, be it for Pathology Labs, new ED departments, ward refurbishments, compartmentation, or chiller and ventilation improvements. In addition to this we have continued work for UEA on its Brain Imaging Centre and embrace prospects for several commercial and private jobs.
JSH are proud to have made this small contribution during these very testing times.
We are always pleased to meet with our clients. To stay safe we can arrange a digital meeting, rather than face to face if you prefer. Feel free to make an appointment during normal business hours.
